This week’s guest is Joey Royale of Get Haunted Industries. We talk about Weird Heroes of Public Access – Tales From Fairhaven Vol. 1, Get Haunted Industries, Darkest Dice RPG and Chick Tracts in general, Ninja City (DCC), One of Us #1 (DCC), and Stay Sick! – A Bad Game for Bad People, a game for Cramps fans and Monster Kids, a juvenile delinquent monster rules-lite RPG based on Nate Treme’s Tunnel Goons.
We explore his YouTube exploits with Joey Royale’s Pizza Party (Goodman Games), and Neon Lords – Ravioli for Randy. We explore the Appendix N stuff he’s selling on Etsy, specifically A Canticle for Leibowitz. We talk about his comedy hip hop past as The Great Gabba Ghoul, and his song “Uncle Steve” in particular as it hit too close to home for Dragon Warrior. Listen to his other music project Get Haunted on Bandcamp.
Pizza Parlor: There are eight tables set with pizza accouterments: table clothes, forks, napkins, parm, red pepper flakes, etc… In the center of each table is a pizza sculpture shaped like your favorite pizza mascots holding an item: Freddy Freaker (rotary phone), The Noid (Yo-yo & pogo stick), Little Caesar (spear), Chuck E Cheese (guitar), Fatz Geronimo the Showbiz Gorilla (keyboard), Mama Celeste (pizza cutter), Red Baron (triplane), Totinos Boy Tennessee, a Pizza Freak (bass guitar).
A claw machine sits in a corner. Insert a coin and make a DEX check to win a prize. The machine will give you what you need most at that moment.
The Get Haunt-afire Explosion is a two-piece (drums & banjo) animatronic band shaped like large connected pizza slices. They play the song, “That’s Amore” when you enter the room. If you can sever this connection, it’ll un-animate the pizza golems.
Eight 10-foot tall windows, two on each wall, are covered with metal shutters that roll open when the band finishes playing. In the sky is a pizza moon with a face who stares back at you from every window. The moonlight animates the pizza golems. Closing all the shutters renders the pizza golems lifeless.
If you eat the pizza, animated or not, it comes to life in your belly and will burst from your stomach. When you kill an animated pizza golem, it combines with another pizza golem and they double their hit points. Devouring our fluids prevents their staleness. They take their victim’s tech to build up the animatronic band. These golems worship the pizza moon as their god and the band is their altar. When all 8 pizza golems are combined, they refer to themself as The Omega Slice. Their jump kick is a highly practiced finishing move and their holy symbol is a jump kick silhouette in front of their moon.
